YSPD Puts Lids On at MLS 2021 Bike Hike

YSPD

Thank you to the YSPD, under the direction of Chief Brian Carlson, for providing a Bike Check-up Clinic for the Mills Lawn School's (MLS) 3rd & 4th Grade 2021 Bike Hike. Prior to the start of the ride, students are able to bring their bikes over to the clinic where equipment is available to inflate tires, perform minor repairs, initiate safety & brake checks, and more.

This year, through a program called "Put A Lid On It," the YSPD secured and is able to distribute bicycle safety helmets. Not only are they distributed to the kids participating in the MSL Bike Hike, but also to individuals throughout the community. The excess helmets will be available to the public (while supplies last) after the event. If you or a child is in need of a bicycle safety helmet, please reach out to Chief Brian Carlson directly:

Thank you to Yellow Springs Schools for partnering with the Village & YSPD, as we continue to foster fun, educational & safe activities for the children throughout our community. And a special thank you goes out to all Village educators & teachers. We appreciate you! #TeacherAppreciationWeek

We also take time to remember the efforts and yearly contributions that Dan Carrigan has made to this initiative. We honor his memory and years of dedication and are thankful for his legacy of service surrounding this beautiful Village tradition that he championed for so many years.
