March for Peace and Justice

March for Peace and Justice

On the morning of June 12, 1982, New York City’s Central Park began to fill with people carrying signs for nuclear disarmament and for an end to the cold war arms race. It was the largest anti-nuclear protest in American history.  The rally and subsequent march were organized around the United Nations Second Special Session on Disarmament. This was the largest anti-nuclear protest in American history.   This poster submitted by Catherine Roma portrays people marching ever toward victory.
