Village of Yellow Springs, Ohio

The Yellow Springs Development Corporation (YSCDC) is seeking one community member for a 1-yr term beginning on January 1, 2021. The YSCDC meets monthly for 1.5-2 hours. Additionally members can expect to spend a couple of hours each month working outside of meetings. Meetings are currently convening via zoom. The YSCDC, an organization recognized under section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is established in Yellow Springs to serve as a coordinating and planning non-profit entity providing funding and oversight for projects to advance the economic, community, commercial, and civic development in the Village of Yellow Springs to grow and strengthen the tax base.

• Strong collaborator with the time to serve on a working committee
• Experience with real estate transactions / finance
• Solid business savvy
• Understand the big picture of economic development
• Willingness to take on committee chair / leadership
• Able to recognize and avoid conflicts of interest
• Financially invested in Yellow Springs in some way

Because the YSDC currently contains fewer than 30% BIPOC, the nominating committee will not nominate a white person for this seat in 2021.
