ZONING PERMIT PROCESSING DURING COVID-19

1. Contact the Zoning Office by phone (937) 767-1702 or email dswinger@vil.yellowsprings.oh.us. Zoning staff will send the appropriate permit application to your email address. Permit forms are also available on www.yso.com.

2. Completed applications and accompanying documentation can be scanned and returned via email to dswinger@vil.yellowsprings.oh.us or by regular mail to: Village of Yellow Springs, Attn: Zoning Office, 100 Dayton Street, Yellow Springs, OH 45387 or to the Village of Yellow Springs Utilities Drop Box located at the John Bryan Center parking lot entrance - 100 Dayton Street.

3. The application will be reviewed and, upon approval, a letter of understanding will be sent via email. Please sign the letter, scan and return it via email to dswinger@vil.yellowsprings.oh.us or by regular mail to:

4. Upon approval, you will be instructed to contact the Utilities Office by phone at (937) 767-7202 - option #2, to pay the appropriate permit fee by credit card. A three-percent processing fee will be assessed. If a credit card payment is not an option, please submit the payment by mail at the above address – Attn: Zoning Office or to the Village of Yellow Springs Utilities Drop Box located at the John Bryan Center parking lot entrance - 100 Dayton Street. On the envelope, please write Attn: Zoning Office and include a note indicating the payment is for a “Zoning Permit.”

5. Upon receipt of payment, a scanned copy of the approved zoning permit will be sent to your email address. For Conditional Use hearings, zoning staff can start the process with applicants following the steps outlined in #1 through #3 above. Scheduling of public hearings are currently on hiatus until the Village of Yellow Springs has received the legislative authority to hold these types of meetings remotely.
