Q: Are there any special circumstances for Seniors being able to shop?

A: Yes. If you are senior and are concerned over being able to shop for groceries.  A process has been set up for orders at Tom’s Market. Please call the Senior Center at 937-767-5751 and place your order. you may also email your order to info@ysseniors.org. Please provide a list of groceries, address and telephone number. Orders submitted by Noon will be delivered the next by noon. No deliveries on Sunday or Monday.   

Q: Is there any way to know what food establishments in the village are taking orders for Delivery and/or Carry-out?

A: Yes. The chamber has developed a restaurant carry out/delivery guide that is being updated as frequently as necessary. That guide can be found at the Yellow Springs Bulletin Board FB Page and on the YS Chamber website. They are also working to track all other business closures and status changes and will communicate that information to the community. They do ask that business owners communicate closures and other changes to the YS Chamber at kwintrow@yschamber.org.   

Q: As a business owner, is there any information available about loans, unemployment insurance, liabilities surrounding COVID-19, etc…

A: Yes. Information vital to businesses during this time can be found at yschamber.org. There will also be more resources further explained Yellow Springs Community Foundation.

Q: Do we have an idea when there will be a full quarantine of the village?

A: We are currently working with other government officials & organizations to ensure that we are aware immediately of any widespread curfew or quarantine initiatives. As soon as we know anything definitive for our community, we will provide that information on our website, social media and during our Virtual Town Hall Meetings. The other organizations within the village will also provide that information as well.

Q: Is there a way to be contacted immediately in case of an emergency, either local or state-wide?

A: Yes. There is a website called Hyper-Reach. Click the Sign-Up link and add your information.

Q: What if you have some questions related to health and what we should do if we think that we are infected or have been in contact with someone who has been infected?

A: We recommend searching the CDC Website first to see what information they have already released regarding possible COVID-19 exposure. Contact your primary care physician immediately to discuss next steps. If you know that you have been in contact with someone that has become infected but you are asymptomatic, a 14 day self-quarantine is recommended.
