Community Communication Tools

The Village of Yellow Springs has incorporated two platforms to make community communication easier. In the event of an emergency, or to report a non-emergency issue within the village, utilizing these tools helps to keep the community informed, as well as funnel any public works related opportunities to the correct department.

RESOURCE #1: HYPER REACH
Community members are able to sign-up for free and receive immediate notifications via text or voice messaging of any weather emergency, power outage, etc. To sign up for this FREE service, please click the link below:

RESOURCE #2: iWorQ
iWorQ gives the community the ability to share observed non-emergency situations. These situations may include down trees, low hanging power lines, street flooding, and more. This is particularly important as we move into the winter season. iWorQ is a FREE app that can be downloaded to your mobile devise. To read more about what is considered a non-emergency, and/or to download the app, please click the link below:

TORNADO SIREN MONTHLY TESTING
To test severe emergency weather services, tornado siren drills occur the first Monday of the month at 12pm.

YSPD DISPATCH DEPARTMENT
YSPD Dispatch is staffed 24/7 to help serve as communications hub for all non-emergency calls from the community. From power outage information, to individual wellness checks, YSPD Dispatch helps to identify the best resource for an incident and routes calls accordingly. Contact YSPD Dispatch for all non-emergency calls: (937)-767-7206. In case of an emergency dial #911.
