Residential Solid Waste Rates and Yard Waste Collection

The Village of Yellow Springs has entered into a new contract with Rumpke Waste, Inc. for solid waste rates and yard waste collection, effective December 21, 2022.

SERVICE CHARGES
Base service charges are assigned for the collection and disposal of garbage, refuse and/or recyclables based on the established monthly rate schedule. The quantity references below do not include bulk items and the volume of recyclables from customer provided recycling bins.

RECYCLING
All rates quoted above under Residential Service include weekly curbside recycling collection. Each resident will be provided with one 65-gallon recycling wastewheeler to hold their commingled recyclables. For a list of acceptable recycling items by Rumpke, click here. 

Additional stickers for containers or bags for excess garbage or refuse are available at the Village Utilities Office at the following sticker costs:

YARD WASTE COLLECTION
Yard waste is collected on the last Friday of every month, April to November and must be in a Rumpke-provided bag. Bags are available at the Village Utilities Office. The cost of the bags is:

ANNUAL CLEANUP
The Village provides an annual clean-up to residential customers of the Village Solid Waste Service. This information will be released yearly as the respective year's details are determined.  The cost of the service is included in the residential services fee.
