Public Power Week, Oct. 3-9, gives public power utilities, communities, and employees the chance to promote the distinct advantages that public power offers consumers and residents. Since its creation in 1986 by the American Public Power Association (APPA) and its members, Public Power Week is always held during the first full week in October. The nationwide program celebrates the importance of public power to local citizens and other public constituencies.
