Garbage Rates & Information

Solid Waste
Effective December 31, 2022 through October 31, 2027, Rumpke will continue to provide weekly solid waste collection and curbside recycling collection services for all single-family, multi-family, and commercial units within the Village of Yellow Springs.
Rumpke will collect (2) bulk items per week on their regular service day. 
All mattresses and box springs and upholstered furniture must be wrapped prior to collection. Large bags for mattresses and upholstered furniture are available at the Utility
Office for $8.25 each.
Freon-containing appliances must have the freon removed by a certified professional and tagged as such prior to collection. Rumpke shall invoice the Village according to the following tier system and commercial rate schedule below.

Service B - Recycling
All rates quoted above under Residential Services include weekly curbside recycling collection. Each residence will be provided with one (1) 65-gallon recycling cart to hold their comingled recyclables. 
Service C - Excess. Garbage and/or Refuse
Any garbage in excess of the chosen Tier level will require the purchase of a sticker for each additional bag set out.

Service E - Annual Curbaise Spring Clean-Up
Each Spring, residents may set out an unspecified number of items for collection during a given week. All items must be bagged, containerized, and/or securely tied in 4x4 bundles. No loose garbage will be picked up. The village will post specifications for the event in advance.

Yard and lawn waste must be in the Rumpke-designated brown bags that are available at Yellow Springs Hardware Store as well as the Village Utility Office.

Yard waste pickups are scheduled for the last Friday of the month starting in April and running through November.
