MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING

IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS JANUARY 6, 2004

CALL TO ORDER

President Tony Arnett called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

ROLL CALL

Tony Arnett, Denise Swinger, Mary Alexander, Jocelyn Hardman and George Pitstick were present. The Village Manager Rob Hillard was also present.

AGENDA ITEM

Council Goals for 2004. Council listed potential goals for 2004. Each Council member presented his/her items for consideration. After the discussion, Council agreed to discuss the following potential goals at the January 20th Council meeting.

1. BUSINESS

   a. Promote and Facilitate New Business.

   b. Retain and Grow Existing Business.

   c. Maximize Use of Commercial Space.

2. HOUSING

   a. Facilitate new Construction and renovation across the housing spectrum.

3. FINANCIAL

   a. Create a 5-Year Sustainable Village Financial Plan

   1. Engage Community
   2. Review Services
   3. Enhance Revenue
   4. Reduce Costs
   5. Address Capital Needs

4. COMMUNICATION

   a. Increase Interaction Between the Public and Village government

5. CONTINUED GOALS

   a. Wellhead Protection Management Plan

   b. Improve Communication with Commissions, Committees, and Boards

   c. Support the Use of Volunteers

Please note that Jocelyn Hardman excused herself from the meeting at 8:30 pm.

ADJOURNMENT

Having no further business, Pitstick MOVED and Alexander SECONDED a MOTION to ADJOURN. The MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY at 8:45 pm.
